In 2017, I was between albums and decided to release a cover of “Wasted Days & Wasted Nights.” This song was a live show staple that I had added lyrics in Spanish to, turning it into a strong cumbia.

After continued fan requests at shows asking if it was on an album — and me telling them it wasn’t — we decided it was time to move the live show song into the studio. We released it as a single with the hope that one day it would be part of a Country Americana record.

“Now Wasted Days has a home on my upcoming bilingual Country album MexiAmericana, releasing September 2023.”

A fan-favorite turned studio recording, Wasted Days is one of the songs that bridges Veronique’s deep Tejano roots with her evolving Country Americana sound — exactly the duality that MexiAmericana was built to celebrate.
